Hummingbird Butter Dish

$55.00

A ceramic french butter dish or crock, thrown on the pottery wheel with a hummingbird printed onto the clay. Holds around a stick of butter!

Note: There are some pinholes around the lid, around the bird, but it doesn’t affect functionality at all. See the first listing photo for a closer look.

HOW TO USE A BUTTER CROCK:

1. Ensure that your butter is at room temperature and softened. Softened butter is easier to work with and will spread more easily.

2. Fill the base (the bird part) of the butter bell with softened butter. Make sure to leave some space at the top.

3. Pour a small amount of cold water into the lid of the butter bell. The water creates an airtight seal when the lid is placed upside down in the base.

4. Carefully place the lid upside down into the base, ensuring that it's submerged in the water. The water creates a barrier that prevents air from reaching the butter, keeping it fresh.

5. Change the water every couple of days

6. Enjoy your fresh, spreadable butter!

✿ Around 3.75 inches tall and 3 inches wide.

✿ Fired to cone 5 in an electric kiln

✿ Food-safe, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe.

✿ Due to the handmade aspect of my craft, please do not expect perfection from my pieces.

✿ There might be slight variations in size, shape, and color, especially when comparing the listing photos on your screen and the piece you receive in person.

✿ Handmade in Longmont, Colorado
